What is baptism?

Baptism is an outward and visible sign of the work God has begun in the heart and life of a follower of Jesus.  Baptism demonstrates salvation given to us through Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection.  Baptism is a public declaration of our faith, putting our old way of life to death and being resurrected to a new life in Christ.
